Freeports - Bringing Prosperity to Global Britain

7pm, Monday 7th February 2022
“The Spying Room”, Morpeth Arms, 58 Millbank, London SW1P 4RW

A freeport is a special zone, usually located around a seaport or airport, in which special economic regulations apply. In August 2019 the Department for International Trade announced the formation of the Freeports Advisory Panel. Liz Truss, then Trade Secretary, said that they"would onshore enterprise and manufacturing as the gateway to our future prosperity", while Rishi Sunak, then Chief Secretary to the Treasury said that they would "boost investment and opportunity for communities across the country" For our first event since lockdown we are delighted to welcome Dr Eamonn Butler - the Director and co-founder of the Adam Smith Institute. A long standing champion of the concept, Eamonn was appointed to the Panel on its creation. If you would like to attend, please let us know you are coming through our Registration Form
